About
Everybody has a story. We built a place to keep it.
Talesgram exists because we got tired of the camera-roll graveyard. Three weeks through Portugal, eight hundred photos, no narrative — and no good way to share the trip with the friends who'd asked, "where should we go in Porto?" The Instagram grid was lossy. The shared Google Drive was sterile. The blog post was a project. The WhatsApp dump was forgotten in 48 hours.
Travel was where we started, but every life has the same problem. A kid growing up across a hundred Sunday afternoons. A renovation that took two years. A garden across the seasons. A grandmother's recipes you keep meaning to write down. The same chapter- and-place model that works for a road trip works for any of these — and the camera roll already half-told the story.
Talesgram is a place that turns moments into a story. And when the story is about travel, it doubles as a route somebody else can walk.
What we believe
- The story is the unit, not the post. A trip — or a year, or a project — is a narrative with chapters, not a grid.
- Travel stories should also be maps. Otherwise the network value is just inspiration. Travel needs a route.
- Algorithms ruin communities. We use chronology, curation, and elected human moderators.
- Privacy is a feature, not a settings page. Per-story, per-chapter, per-place. Your last hotel hides itself; your kid's face is blurred unless you say otherwise.
- Free for everyone, forever. We charge creators for monetization tools and travel businesses for sponsored placements. The everyday experience stays free, and ad-free on your stories.
